  • Pima Community College - West Campus 2202 W Anklam Rd Tucson, AZ 85745 (map)

Taught by Amy S. Cramer, Ph.D.

As a teacher, you have the most important job in our country because you inspire people to think critically and have a positive impact on the world. Voices On The Economy (VOTE) is a Tucson-based, award-winning program that teaches educators to present diverse perspectives in a balanced and accurate way so that students can make up their own minds about what they believe and find their own voices on the issues.

Join us for a free, one-day workshop that will delve into the issue of Income Distribution, looking at it from the Conservative, Liberal, and Radical perspectives. What are their different policy ideas? (Progressive Taxes? Flat or Consumption Taxes? Universal Basic Income or Maximum Wages?) How does each perspective analyze the problem? Hands-on exercises will bring the material alive, and we will provide you with lesson plans and other materials so you can bring these ideas back to your classrooms.

No previous knowledge of economics is required. Appropriate for all subject areas and all levels of educators from middle school through university. Earn 7 free Professional Development hours.

There is no fee for this program, but you must preregister:
