Teachers in Industry

Teachers in Industry is a program that works to solve the most pressing STEM issue—teacher retention—while also helping teachers to deepen their subject matter knowledge and improve classroom instruction by reflecting workplace skills and practices. The program is having an important impact on STEM teaching and learning in our community.

Teachers in Industry is a unique partnership between middle and high school STEM teachers and the UA College of Education, Tucson Values Teachers, the Southern Arizona Leadership Council, and Arizona businesses. The program allows teachers to join the STEM workforce for summer employment while also taking UA courses leading to a masters degree or professional development credits.
